Levi's Vintage Clothing LVC Japan 1933 Lot 501XX
Japan is no doubt one of the biggest exporter of finest denim in the world. Japanese denim manufacturers are devoted in the developing new ways of fabric improvement and weathering. LVC Japan being the leader in the industry has never stopped its pace. Replicas of the antiques have been presented in different kind of washes to reflect the mood or scenerio of the old days.
This is the second pair of LVC Japan 1933 we have. The last one has been sold with a happy ending, our buyer received tons of compliment around since he started to use it. The denim comes with factory made but natural like whiskers and fade. Looks authentically beautiful.
Now Union Dry Goods brings the second pair to our customers again. Don't miss it because it's something not come up often!

Levi's Vintage Clothing LVC Waist Overalls Circa 1890
By pure calculation, this pair of waist overalls can't be a 1890 LVC because of that 125 Years' Anniversary. Many customers email us and argue on this point. 1890+125=2015, we are yet to be in 2013! It's so true. However on careful studies on limited historical material, we determine the model to be 1890 instead of 1886 thanks to the slimmer cut design which does rather make sense!
We are open minded.
Simply categorize it as a Circa 1890 then. And now available at our online store: http://www.uniondrygoods.com/eng/product.php?id=87

Levi's Vintage Clothing LVC banner in Union Dry Goods updated
Our latest store banner for LVC products. Highlighting the operation of shuttle looms in an old garment factory, we'd like to bring this important message to all our cutomers' attention - the best is always brought by hard laboring and time-consuming craftmanship.
Levi's Vintage Clothing LVC 1920's Distressed Corduroy Chino color Gray
LVC Japan manufactures this pair of cord chino with a distressed wash which is a big added value to the item. Normal use of cord pants is difficult to develop crease fade or whiskers, like in the case of duck canvas.
This pair of cord jeans is pre-owned but kept like a deadstock new. Any user can wear it with a big smile on his face. Corduroy material is limited to dry-cleaning only so don't bother the shrinkage. It fits very well those big and talls.
Waist: 35 inches
Inseam: 29.5 inches
Front rise: 11.5 inches
Leg opens: 17 inches

Levi's Vintage Clothing LVC 1922 Lot 501XX by LVC Japan
In 1922, LS&CO. added beltloops to its overalls, retained suspender buttons and cinch were still in use in the pants. This move was in response to the changes in Men's fashion and the company's understanding on what customers want.
The change signifed overalls step into an era of "more convenient to use". Users are free to choose suspenders or belts or simply without both in company with their overalls.
LVC Japan re-issued the 1922 Lot 501XX washed edition to memorize this milestone. The pants feature everything a 1922 model should include. The leather patch is made of buckskin. Zinc button fly is used.
Union Dry Goods brings you this pair of 22501 today, it means you are able to show it off to your friends anytime before Christmas and become the envy of your peer group!

Levi's Vintage Clothing LVC Circa 1873 Duck Canvas Hunting Jacket
Not every denim store is able to offer customers the duck products of LVC, let alone 2 different generations of the early duck jackets at the same time. Union Dry Goods made it.
We have presented last month a 1873 Duck Canvas Work Jacket, and this November, an even more beautiful duck hunting jacket by LVC Japan is listed in Union Dry Goods. The official serial number dictated this item year 1874. Well... it's actually something unimportant, that's why we just simplify it as circa 1873 to help customers memorize it.
A big question mark suddenly flash into our mind. If we were the buyer, what should we do and how do we choose between the 2 nice jackets. Good question! Our point of view is simple. For collectors or end users, the best thing to do is buy both and compare them in detail, because they won't appear in market again shortly.

Levi's Vintage Clothing LVC 1901 Lot 214 Sack Coat
It's made in Italy, but it doesn't look European.
It's a replica, and it does look old American.
It's all about this LVC Year 1901 Lot 214 Sack Coat. Made of dark denim and solid brass buttons. In Size 36. Globally limited re-issue.
What can you say? All I can say is: LVC 214 is so "workwear".

This pair of denim is the only No.2 member reissued without the existence of beltloops, since the invention of beltloops only took place in 1922. All suspender buttons are coated with rust color. A strong distressed vintage feel indeed!

Levi's Vintage Clothing LVC auction list, week 2012/10/28
Nobody else dares to claim a complete portfolio of Levi's Vintage Clothing LVC without the existence of early duck overalls in it. The very first replica represents a 1873 model. The pair we have for this week, on the other hand, has its design based on the famous 1880 Knappave with an additional left tool pocket available.
Should be much more accurate to call it the 1922 Lot 201 because belt loops were only added to any LS&CO. bottoms after the year 1922... Anyway, it's a nice pair of denim of the family No.2. Characteristic white oil-cloth patch, black-coated suspender buttons, baggy cut - all reflecting the toughness of the denim and the working class of the era!

Levi's Vintage Clothing LVC 1890 Patchwork Waist Overalls 125 Years' Anniversay
It might not look familiar with, probably because this model does not exist on earth with abundance especially when it's talking about a replica of the era before 1900.
By 1890 features such as
the iconic two horse patch have appeared; it's placed on the right hand side of the
denim. The design, however, was formulated according to Levi's records as early as in 1886. There is still one back pocket, making these '4
pocket' waist overalls. Levi's productions were pioneers being copied fairly widely, and by 1900
or so rival makers include Special, Stronghold and Can't Bust Em, all of which
look pretty similar - many of them have Levi's-style arcuates,
too.
Union Dry Goods brings you a pair of Year 1890 re-issue. LVC designers have inserted their great idea of patchwork to this special 125 anniversay model. Solid 555 construction by the Valencia Factory, this pair of denim is a mus-have for every denim lover in the globe should there be enough supply.
Now available in Union Dry Goods and comes with golden size 30/36! (Actual measurement see description)

Levi's Vintage Clothing 1915 Cone Mills 501XX Special Edition
The Belt loops in LS&CO. productions were only added since the year 1922. Before that, every pair of waist overalls feature only the suspender buttons and cinch buckle for waist fit adjustment. Levi's Vintage Clothing LVC designers have formulated a special edition of 1915 Lot 501XX, with attractive features which never appear in any other models...
Buttoned back pocket flaps and belt loops are added and they are made of tough cotton duck fabric. All buttons are coated with rust color which elevate much of the "vintage" feel of this 1915 model!
Cutting based on the LVC 1915 Collaboration Rigid 501XX but this time the pants are with nice factory wash while sharing the same comfort and protection from the quality Cone Mills selvedge fabric. Very rare item indeed, seize this opportunity before it's too late!

Levi's Vintage Clothing 1915 Cone Mills Collaboration Denim 501XX
The legend of LS&CO. couldn't be perfect without the aid of the Cone Mills denim. The partnership of the two companies began as early as in 1906 when the American workwear giant decided to start purchase denim fabric from Cone Mills' base, Greebsboro, North of California.
9 years passed. The achievement of LS&CO. productions reached a climax when it received the Highest Award for waist overalls at the Panama Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco. Levi's and Cone Mills formed its strategic collaboration and the result was fabulous as we all see how these plain selvedge pants sell over the last century!
Union Dry Goods proudly presents the precious LVC 1915 Colab Dry denim 501XX to every of you. You deserve a pair of denim like this (Part 2)
Julius Cesar just doesn't look right without his purple toga on. Real man just can't go without the right pair of jeans. What makes our own pair appealing? Well go through some of the important features today.
Fabric is the soul of a pair of jeans. Over decades Japanese companies have been so devoted in developing it's fabric industry by introducing advanced ways to improve the dyeing and manufacturing process. Lovely brands set up demonstrated how good the Japanese quality was. The author however has personal reservation in recent releases from Japan since the tsunami tragedy. Afterall, water is in heavy use during the manufacturing stages and we never know if the water has been contaminated! Heard of Xinjiang made selvedge was introduced in some developing oriental brands lately but the author remains a die-hard for pure US construction.
What else? Hardware talks now. Classic interpreters demand their jeans be button fly, like the originals. Fair enough, zipper fly does not relief much of the men's headache but post certain threat. Our viewpoint is in favor of button fly since it's still the best way so far to pay homage to denim's hard-laboring heritage. Suspenders buttons and cinch buckles were used before 1930's and most replicas include them for the sack of being "vintage" and most important "profitable". For daily use, however, it's the belt loops which bring "life" to your pair of denim with the pairing up of carefully selected belts.
Leg Shape also counts. There should not be any major variation in the upper thigh in the world of men's denim. Anything under the knee would decide what kind of guy you are. Straight cut or baggy design? Boot-cut or bell-bottom? Miner or painter? James Dean or Elvis Presley? Well, ancient baggy cuts tend to cover shortcoming of body built like "out knee" while straight leg fits quite well those big & tall.
For cuffs, Union Dry Goods holds the view that your jeans be with the right length for your legs. They could hang long provided the leg is wide enough, but definitely not so long as to flip them up. Remember, denim is invention of human beings. Don't let them control over you!
Speak enough and we leave the discussion of weathering of jeans next time.
